Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 2026
Who these terms apply to
These terms and conditions apply to all students, participants, and attendees who register for or attend classes, coaching sessions, and community events associated with Chaos Magic Skates in Snohomish County, Washington and the greater Seattle area. By registering or participating, you agree to these terms in full.
Registration and payment
Registration is required for all classes and coaching sessions. Spots are limited and are not guaranteed until registration is complete. Payment terms and accepted methods will be communicated at the time of registration. Community events may have separate registration requirements which will be noted on the event listing.
Cancellations and refunds
We understand that life happens. If you need to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible. Refund eligibility is as follows:
Cancellations made more than 48 hours before a class or event are eligible for a full refund or credit toward a future session. Cancellations made within 48 hours are eligible for a credit toward a future session but not a refund. No-shows are not eligible for refunds or credits. If Chaos Magic Skates cancels a class or event, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to another session.
Safety and protective gear
The safety of every participant is our top priority. Protective gear is strongly recommended at all classes and events and includes a properly fitted helmet, wrist guards, knee pads, and elbow pads. Chaos Magic Skates does not provide safety gear unless explicitly stated for a specific event.
Participants who choose to participate without full protective gear do so entirely at their own risk. By registering and participating, you acknowledge that you have been informed of the recommended safety gear requirements, you understand the physical risks associated with participating without protective gear, and you voluntarily and knowingly accept full responsibility for any injury, harm, or loss that results from your decision to skate without recommended protective gear.
Chaos Magic Skates, its instructors, and its affiliates are explicitly released from any and all liability for injuries or damages sustained by a participant who declined to wear recommended protective gear. This release applies whether the participant verbally declined, failed to bring gear, or removed gear during a session.
Assumption of risk and release of liability
Roller skating is a physical activity that carries inherent risks including but not limited to falls, collisions, muscle strain, and injury. By registering for or attending any class, coaching session, or event associated with Chaos Magic Skates, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
-
You understand and accept that roller skating involves inherent physical risks.
-
You confirm that you and any minors you are registering are voluntarily participating with full knowledge of those risks.
-
You confirm that you and any minors you are registering are physically capable of participating.
-
You have disclosed any relevant health conditions, physical limitations, or disabilities to Chaos Magic Skates in advance.
-
You agree to release, waive, and discharge Chaos Magic Skates, its owner, instructors, volunteers, partners, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, damages, or liability arising from participation in any class or event, except in cases of gross negligence on the part of Chaos Magic Skates.
Voluntary participation and personal responsibility
Participation in all Chaos Magic Skates classes and events is entirely voluntary. Every participant retains the right to stop participating at any time. By choosing to participate, you accept personal responsibility for your own safety and wellbeing, including decisions about protective gear, physical exertion, and your personal limits.
Chaos Magic Skates hosted community events
Chaos Magic Skates periodically hosts open community skate events that are free and open to the public. These events are not structured classes and no formal instruction is provided unless explicitly stated. By attending a Chaos Magic Skates hosted community event you acknowledge and agree to the following:
-
You are participating voluntarily and entirely at your own risk.
-
Chaos Magic Skates is acting as an event organizer and not as your instructor or supervisor during open skate time.
-
You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of any minors in your care. Protective gear is strongly recommended and Chaos Magic Skates is not liable for any injury or damage sustained during open community skate events.
-
Event signage, website content, registration forms, and social media postings are considered part of these terms. Attendance at the event constitutes acceptance of these terms, whether or not a separate waiver has been signed.
-
Chaos Magic Skates reserves the right to remove any participant from a community event at any time for any reason including but not limited to unsafe behavior, conduct that violates our code of conduct, or failure to follow event guidelines.
Third party and partner community events
Chaos Magic Skates may promote, share, or list community skating events that are organized and hosted by third parties including but not limited to Chaos Magic Skates partners, local skating organizations, parks, and community groups. For these events the following applies:
-
Chaos Magic Skates is acting solely as a community information resource by sharing these events.
-
Chaos Magic Skates has no organizational or operational role in third party events and is not responsible for their planning, execution, or safety standards.
-
Attendance at any third party event is entirely at your own risk and subject to that event's own terms, waivers, and safety requirements.
-
Chaos Magic Skates makes no representations or guarantees about the safety, accessibility, or suitability of any third party event.
-
Any concerns, incidents, or disputes arising from a third party event should be directed to that event's organizer and not to Chaos Magic Skates.
-
The presence of a Chaos Magic Skates listing or promotion of a third party event does not constitute an endorsement of that event or its organizers.
By attending any event listed or promoted by Chaos Magic Skates that is hosted by a third party, you agree that Chaos Magic Skates bears no liability whatsoever for anything that occurs at that event.
Minors and parental consent
Participants under the age of 18 must be registered or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. By registering a minor or bringing a minor to any Chaos Magic Skates class or hosted event, the parent or guardian confirms they have the authority to do so, accepts these terms and the assumption of risk on the minor's behalf, and consents to the minor's participation with full understanding of the risks involved. A parent or guardian must be reachable by phone during any class or event their child attends.
Parents or guardians who allow a minor to participate without full protective gear confirm that this decision was made knowingly and voluntarily, and that Chaos Magic Skates is fully released from liability for any injury resulting from that decision.
For third party events, parents and guardians are solely responsible for reviewing that event's own policies regarding minors before allowing their child to attend.
Code of conduct
Chaos Magic Skates is committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone. We ask that all participants, caregivers, and attendees treat others with respect at all Chaos Magic Skates classes and hosted events. Behavior that is discriminatory, harassing, or threatening will not be tolerated and may result in removal from a class or event without a refund.
Photography and media
We occasionally photograph or record classes and community events for use on our website and social media. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let us know before your class or event. We will never share images of minors without explicit parental consent. Chaos Magic Skates has no control over photography or media at third party events and is not responsible for how those events handle media.
General liability
Chaos Magic Skates is not liable for injuries, losses, or damages that occur during classes or hosted events except where caused by gross negligence on our part. We are not responsible for lost or stolen personal belongings at any class or event location. We bear no liability whatsoever for anything that occurs at a third party event we have listed or promoted.
Acknowledgment and agreement
By completing registration for any Chaos Magic Skates class or coaching session, attending any Chaos Magic Skates hosted community event, or attending any third party event listed or promoted by Chaos Magic Skates, you confirm that you have read and understood these terms in full, you agree to be bound by them, and you accept the assumption of risk and release of liability described above. If registering on behalf of a minor, you confirm you have the authority to accept these terms on their behalf.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued participation after any changes means you accept the updated terms.
